Being one of the most historical and socio-cultural cities of Turkey, Istanbul is the city that unites Asia and Europe. The idea of owning a real estate property from Istanbul, Turkey’s most populated city, raises an important question: “In which region of Istanbul should I buy property?” In addition to being composed of two regions, Istanbul is divided into 39 districts. The city consists of 39 districts, connected by many main transportation routes and hundreds of smaller streets.

Districts on the European Side of Istanbul

Arnavutkoy – It is one of the historic districts in Istanbul. Arnavutkoy is a district where people with different ethnic and religious backgrounds live together.

Avcilar – It is located just to the west of the Kucukcekmece and Marmara Sea. Istanbul University, one of Turkey’s largest universities, has an Avcilar campus. As a result, the region has a young population. It is also accessible by metrobus and other public transportation in the region.

Bagcilar – It is located between the two major ring roads, the TEM and the E5. With many projects, the district is one of the most preferred areas for investment and living purposes.

Bahcelievler – It means “houses with gardens” in Turkish. It is one of the most preferred areas for buying houses with its modern architecture, large shopping malls, local markets, amusement centers and cafes.

Bakirkoy – It is one of the important trade areas of Istanbul. Bakirkoy is close to many national and international companies and holds an important place in the economy of Istanbul. Being an important center for the banking sector, there are currently 132 bank branches in the center of Bakirkoy and its various neighborhoods. The World Trade Center, which exhibits Turkish export products, is also located in the district.

Basaksehir – It is a rising real estate district attracting the attention of both Turkish and international investors. It borders the districts of Arnavutkoy, Eyup, Sultangazi, Esenler, Esenyurt and Avcilar. Basaksehir is close to many national and international companies, institutions, and techno parks in and around Istanbul.

Bayrampasa – It is one of the suburban districts of Istanbul. There are two major sports complexes and one of Istanbul’s central bus stations in the district.

Besiktas – It is located between Sariyer, Sisli, Kagithane, Beyoglu. It is on the east by the Bosphorus and directly across the Bosphorus from Uskudar. Besiktas is one of the regions where houses are bought to live and invest by foreign and native buyers due to its historical places, active streets and lively neighborhoods.

Beylikduzu – It is located in the west of Istanbul. Beylikduzu attracts attention of native and foreign investors with its houses, hospitals, schools and living centers.

Beyoglu – It is one of the most popular districts. Beyoglu is one of the districts of Istanbul where people with different ethnic and religious backgrounds live together.

Buyukcekmece – It is one of the most preferred regions for those who want to buy a house for investment or living purposes. It is located near Catalca, Arnavutkoy, Beylikduzu, Esenyurt. In the north of the region is the Sea of Marmara.

Catalca – It is located near Tekirdag and the Blacksea. The place where the city and nature meet with the rural features. The area that attracts attention with its historic buildings and houses that bring together modern architecture and natural beauty.

E

Esenler – Esenler has one of the biggest inter-city bus terminals in Istanbul. It is a residential center.

Esenyurt – It is located between the TEM road on the north and E-5 motorway on the south.

Eyup – Eyupsultan borders Sariyer to the east, Kagithane and Beyoglu to the southeast, Gaziosmanpasa, Fatih and Sultangazi to the south, Başaksehir to the southwest, and Arnavutkoy to the west.
